Healthcare boost for Dubai as MEDCARE Hospital opens in Jumeirah

MEDCARE Hospital - a new, state of the art medical facility is to open in Jumeirah in early 2007, it was announced.

The 60 bed multi specialty hospital, adjacent to Safa Park, between Sheikh Zayed road and Al Wasl road, will be the first in the area to offer advanced medical care and emergency services including a maternity department.

MEDCARE hospital has centres of excellence in maternity, urology, nephrology, gastroenterology, gastro intestinal surgery and ears, nose and throat (ENT). The facilities also include 25 outpatient consultation rooms, fully fledged emergency department, delivery suites, endoscopy room and day surgery unit.

Employing advanced technology, the hospital aims to become the first paperless hospital with online imaging, investigation processing and prescribing. Due to the tele-radiology enabled scanning and image transfer systems, doctors will be able to read scans and x-rays even when out of the hospital. Additionally, the telemedicine enabled operating rooms and conference hall will allow MEDCARE staff to do real time interaction with professionals around the world. Wireless internet is also available in every patient's room.
