Italy's leading business management institute, the School of Business Management and Organization (SDOA) of the Fondazione Antonio Genovesi today presented diploma certificates to 17 UAE national students of the Zayed University (ZU) for participation in the SDOA Intercultural Project - 'Entrepreneurship in Tourism and Communication Course' in Salerno, Italy.

Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice President of Zayed University welcomed the delegation from SDOA at Zayed University's Abu Dhabi campus. He also expressed appreciation of the project for facilitating the exchange of educational and cultural understanding.

The event was attended by officials from the Italian Embassy including Dr. Luigi Marini, First Secretary.

Dr. Benedetta Paravia, SDOA Intercultural Project Coordinator said, "We are extremely grateful to HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai for his generous support of the Emirates students' participation in the Intercultural Project."

Dr. Paravia also thanked H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and President of Zayed University and Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim for their ongoing support.

The SDOA Intercultural Project has been established as a joint initiative with the UAE to enhance cultural exchange between the two countries.

SDOA will mark its 20th anniversary celebrations at Salerno, Italy on 29 January, 2007 with the participation of a high-level delegation from the UAE.

The delegation will include representatives from the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Al Maktoum Foundation and the Emirates Airline.

The anniversary will also coincide with the visit of over 100 students from the Higher Colleges of Technologies (HCT) and the UAE University, Al Ain to attend the Entrepreneurship Course under the SDOA Intercultural Project.

Earlier this year, the Zayed University, Higher Colleges of Technologies, and UAE University, Al Ain signed a memorandum of understanding with SDOA to create specialised, tailor made courses for students seeking advanced studies at SDOA.

SDOA is one of Europe's best institutions offering topical courses, specialised studies and post-graduate disciplines that are structured according to the requirements of students from the Arab world. SDOA is recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (M.I.U.R.) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the UAE.
