Available with both versions of the 911 power unit, the third generation 911 Targa 4 and 911 Targa 4S continue a more than 40-year-old tradition through a highly advanced and proven glass roof concept available exclusively with permanent all-wheel drive and a body that is 44 millimetres wider at the rear.

Commenting on the introduction of the new 911 Targa 4(S) in Abu Dhabi, Deesch Papke, Managing Director of Porsche Middle East and Africa, said:

"Throughout the years, Ali & Sons Co. L.L.C. has worked determinedly to ensure supreme purchase and ownership experience of Porsche cars in Abu Dhabi. It is such dedication and effort that have powered Porsche Middle East & Africa to a new sales record for the seventh year in a row. The all new 911 Targa 4(S) will enhance the Porsche product range in Abu Dhabi with a unique motoring experience that blends 911 Performance with a panoramic view of the world."

The most distinguishing characteristic of the Targa 4(S) is a folding rear window and a large glass roof blending harmoniously with the sports car's lines and lending it a distinctive personality. A side-mounted polished anodized aluminium trim strip running the length of the roof frame emphasizes the elegant side outline. The glass roof, which is 1.9 kilograms lighter than its predecessor, can be opened in only seven seconds to as much as half a meter, no matter what the speed, by means of two electric motors. Wind noises are kept to a minimum even at high speed by a newly developed sealing system and a wind deflector that minimizes turbulence inside the vehicle.

The Targa 4 is powered by the familiar flat-six engine, featuring Porsche's VarioCam Plus valve control system, delivering 325 bhp and 370 Newton-meter of torque at 4,250 rpm from 3.6 litres. It accelerates the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and powers it to a top speed of 280 km/h. The more powerful S variant features a 3.8-litre engine producing 355 bhp and 400 Newton-meter of torque at 4,600 rpm. This model sprints to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 288 km/h. Power transmission is via a six-speed manual gearbox, or an optional five-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission. Engine power is sent to an all-wheel drive system with a viscous multi-plate clutch, which depending on driving conditions applies between 5 and 40 percent of the driving power to the front axle at all times.

Wissam Khalil, Brand Manager of Ali & Sons Co. L.L.C., Porsche Centre Abu Dhabi, stressed the significance of launching the third generation 911 Targa 4(S) in Abu Dhabi: "The pleasure of driving a Porsche is not only bound to its unique dynamic behaviour on the road, but also derived from its aesthetic qualities. No where is this more apparent than with the new Targa. When automotive art and performance blend with superior technology there is little one can do to resist the temptation. The all new 911 Targa 4(S) will definitely be a great success in Abu Dhabi."

The new Porsche 911 Targa 4 & 4S in Abu Dhabi is now available at Porsche showroom in Abu Dhabi.
