Amricon announces its globally patented SMART Video system
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, December 20 - 2006 at 12:54
- PRESS RELEASE
Amricon, a leading smart solutions company in the Middle East, has announced its new globally patented SMART Video system, which will be made available for licensing.
SMART Video, a globally patented solution developed by Amricon, uses a low speed internet protocol connection to control the delivery of video programming over existing broadcast distribution networks. The converged network system combines the choice, convenience, and control of the internet with the proven advantages of broadcast distribution to provide consumers with a range of new viewing options. The SMART Video system reflects the convergence of broadcast, communications and data networks while recognizing the considerable investment that has been made in conventional digital satellite, terrestrial and cable video distribution infrastructure.
"Amricon continues to pioneer developments in Smart technologies and the launch of SMART Video is yet another milestone for us," said Mohamad Jarrar, Managing Director, Amricon. "Our partnership with informitv is part of our global expansion strategy and we look forward to working closely with them to identify and implement applications of this approach across major markets."
Amricon is inviting interested parties to discuss the application of its patented approach to their products & services with a view to licensing the technology.
An independent consultancy based in London and specializing in interactive television, informitv offers an informed view of the future of television. Internationally recognized for its industry expertise, informitv provides consultancy, recruitment, conference, and publishing services. The company is supported by an international network of industry specialists and provides professional strategic consultancy and practical expertise for deploying innovative interactive television and advanced audio and video services over broadband and broadcast networks.
"We are pleased to be working with Amricon to advise on a range of applications for this patented technology," said Dr. William Cooper, Principal Consultant at informitv. "As broadband and broadcast networks converge we are seeing interesting new possibilities enabled for interactive television services by hybrid solutions such as this."
