The Charity's Challenge Director Andy Jackson, said, 'It was hard work paddling every day and on top of that we faced the heaviest rains Lima has seen in 90 years as well as incredibly tough seas off Ras Qabr Al Hindi on the east coast.

'I am really proud of every Challenger that took part and despite the conditions, battled on to the finish. They all deserve a big pat on the back and respect for finishing. To date, our participants have raised about AED 145,000 (US $39,480) which will provide computer software to help the blind."

Known as the "Norway of Arabia" because of its fjord-like canals, Musandam is the northern-most part of Oman overlooking the Straits of Hormuz at the entrance of the Arabian Gulf. Surrounded by mountains1,800 metres above sea level and with numerous islands to view on the journey, kayaking here is not only visually stunning but is also a great way to explore this part of Oman.

On a journey that started in Khasab, 15 men and 7 women challengers (of 10 nationalities) paddled the full-length of the Peninsula for seven-days, taking them past places such as Kumzar, Shesha Bay, Lima Beach and Telegraph Island.

A major aim of Gulf For Good and the Musandam Challenge is to bring together people of all backgrounds to push their own limits whilst raising money for a good cause.
