Secure Computing and Workshare launch Workshare Network Protect for IronMail
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, December 23 - 2006 at 11:46
- PRESS RELEASE
Secure Computing Corporation and Workshare have jointly announced the availability of Workshare Network Protect for IronMail, a network-based outbound content security appliance that integrates seamlessly with and augments Secure Computing's IronMail messaging security and content management products, and Workshare's Protect Enterprise Suite.
The integrated solution protects sensitive information such as intellectual property and private customer, HR and financial information found in both visible and hidden content, and provides increased effectiveness and reduced administrative burden leveraging advanced content filtering techniques such as fingerprinting, lexical analysis and clustering. It gives protection for the widest number of data formats including support for more than 370 file formats and analysis of both visible and hidden content in messages and attachments based on actual content and the identities of the sender and recipients.
The solution also ensures enhanced real-time assessment and management of risk through integrated policy, incident management and reporting; facilitates centralized policy management and enforcement via the Secure Computing messaging gateway, and provides comprehensive end-point to gateway protection, leveraging Workshare Protect Client for protection on individual clients and Secure Computing's messaging security gateway.
"This partnership with Workshare firmly establishes Secure Computing's lead in comprehensive outbound data leak protection at the end-point and at the gateway," said Ray Kafity, Director of Sales, Middle East and Africa, Secure Computing. "Customers in the Middle East will now have access to broad multi-layered protection, advanced filtering technologies, and a common policy and management framework in a single solution."
According to a survey of 300 global IT security and compliance officers completed by Loudhouse Research, the top two overriding concerns for content leak risk are e-mail (67%) and removable storage (65%). Unlike network-only or agent-based solutions, Workshare Network Protect for IronMail and Workshare Protect Enterprise Suite are integrated, engaging the user in risk mitigation at the end-point and delivering proven protection, scalability and reliability at the messaging gateway. This solution provides just-in-time training as people work and drives down compliance costs at the same time.
"As we see concerns about data leaks continuing to increase, we are thrilled to bring a one-stop content security solution to market with Secure Computing, the trusted leader in enterprise gateway security," said Joe Fantuzzi, CEO of Workshare. "Workshare's strengths lie in integrated outbound end-point and network content protection. Fifty-six percent of the Fortune 1000 and over 5,500 organizations globally rely on us daily. This alliance is a big win for our common and new customers, providing them with complete integration and protection."
"Inside-out content security is a growing concern and a threat for all organizations,' said Michael Osterman, founder and principal of Osterman Research. "Any solution must protect all egress points, from the desktop to the network. This partnership solution provides a comprehensive means to prevent data leaks and compliance violations through messaging and is very compelling for end-user customers."
