CIT Global successfully delivers the National Switch Consultancy project

CIT Global, a leading international eCommerce/mCommerce solutions and services provider with business delivered in more than 25 countries worldwide, announced the successful delivery of the Oman National Switch Consultancy project for the Central Bank of Oman (CBO).
CIT Global was selected as the CBO's consultant for such a critical decision in order to introduce New Trends & Technologies in this field as well as the latest Industry Standards. Based on CIT Global's expertise, the CBO was able to assess the existing EFT environment in the country, identify and prioritize their requirements thus mapping their business with a future vision.
CIT Global has performed an assessment of the current payment infrastructure and the current operating switch networks in Oman with the availability to upgrade/replace any of the working two networks with a new state-of-the-art network that should resolve all pending issues with the current network as well as to satisfy the future needs for Oman in the coming 5-10 years.
With its long and proven experience in the EMV & EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) business, CIT Global offered CBO assistance in establishing and operating a robust and reliable national EFT ýservices that benefit both the service providers and the cardholders of the Sultanate of Oman, by providing a group of consultancy services that includes both business and technical consultancy, as well as recommending the best approach for the way-forward and the transitional plan for crossing from the current phase to the desired future phase.

This project is the fruit of the strategic cooperation between CBO and CIT Global with the contribution of Bishara Establishment, a leading Total Solution provider and CIT Global's local partner in Oman., and it required extensive communication with the financial external entities resembled in the 16 banks operating currently in Oman.
