HP's Imaging and Printing Group wins 6 awards at GITEX 2006

Readers of the Windows Middle-East had the opportunity this year to decide many of the key consumer product and brand winners via an online vote. This was also a chance for readers to inform the region's companies exactly which products are the best. Readers chose HP Photosmart as the 'Best Photo Printer', while the award for the 'Best Consumer Multifunction Device' went to HP Photosmart. The award for 'Best Customer Support' was also bagged by HP Middle-East. Windows Middle East recognizes the best IT products and most customer-focused companies. This year, readers chose from 9 categories out of the overall 26 Windows Awards.

HP IPG also won the award from PC World for the 'Best Digital Camera' which was given to the R967. HP'S Photosmart R967 has already received tons of accolades worldwide. The 10-megapixel camera comes with a 7.6cm LCD, 30x total zoom and HP's Real Life technologies including HP's industry-leading, automatic in-camera red-eye removal, in-camera panorama and the unique slimming feature.

PC Magazine, another leading IT publication in the region handed out the 'Best Inkjet Printer' award to HP. For 2006, HP's inkjet printer showed impressive quality and relaiabilty which was reflected in PC Magazine's testing results.

The 2006 IT Weekly Arab Technology Awards also recognized the very best of Middle East's information and communication technology industry. HP won the 'Best Consumer Hardware Company of the Year' award at the high-profile awards ceremony due to its vast and impressive range of consumer hardware products- from printers, all-in-ones through to cameras, notebooks, PC's and PDA's.
