They will also be creating the US$ 8 million spa facility for the upcoming Mövenpick Resort & Spa Palm Jumeirah.
'Spas are an essential component of today's hotel product and we wanted to create an experience unlike any other in the region' said Thomas Tapken, general manager & regional manager, Dubai. 'Our alignment with Schletterer means that guests and spa-goers will experience something unique in Dubai.'
Created as an oasis within the lagoon the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Palm Jumeirah is an Asian style concept characterised by the use of natural materials - wood, natural stone and plant life - combined with innovative water features.
This unique spa village sprawling over 2380 m2 will comprise indoor and outdoor treatment rooms providing signature therapies, water based therapies, beauty rooms as well as retail and vitamin refreshment areas. Natural water features will play a big part in the design of this spa.
The 2880 m2 Thalasso spa facility at the Mövenpick Resort Oceana Palm Jumeirah concept will be the first installation of its type in the Middle East. Key design features based on the themes of water, the ocean and marine life are all interpreted in a modern and contemporary style.
Unique features will include an oceanic pool area with water massage jets, relaxation areas with recliners, water beds and double recliners as well as a vitamin & snack bar in an oceanic aquarium style. There will also be a salt sanctuary with flotation pool, salt Laconium dome and innovative salt treatments.
'We are delighted to be working with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts on these two unique spas both of which have allowed us to break barriers in terms of creativity and guest experience' said Dr. Gerald Huber, director international project development representing Schletterer International Group.
