Twenty-seven amateur and professional photographers are featuring works that reflect the rich cultural tradition of the U.A.E. in all its splendour. The participants, mostly from U.A.E. in addition to Iraq, Canada, and East Asia, are between 18 and 35 years of age and are exhibiting 120 black and white snapshots. The exhibition is open daily from 10 am to 10 pm on weekdays, and 4 pm to 11 pm on Fridays. The show runs until the 2nd of February, 2007.
"The organizing of this event was determined upon the Carpet Oasis organizing committee's decision to enhance this year's event in general and provide visitors with comprehensive information on the culture and history of the United Arab Emirates,"
said Maitha Sagar Al Marri, Exhibition Organiser.
Al Marri added that the aim of the exhibition was to encourage the talented youth of the country to enquire on the rich past left to them by their forefathers and discover their identities by understanding the history of this country. She concluded by saying that the revenues from the exhibition would be donated to the Ras Al Khaimah Special Ability Centre.
The combined edition of DSF 2006-2007 will run from December 20, 2006 to February 2, 2007. The 45 days of family fun, entertainment and shopping frenzy will offer retrospective glimpses of the 10 previous editions combining the best of the best and promises to be even bigger and better.
