Educational opportunities for 2007 on show in Abu Dhabi
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, January 04 - 2007 at 12:32
- PRESS RELEASE
Demand for higher education courses in the UAE is higher than ever before, as professionals realise the significant career opportunities that a Masters Degree can create, according to senior academics at the British University in Dubai (BUiD).
The course, which provides professionals with Bachelors degrees in non-business subjects with the required grounding to join a MSc programme in Finance and Banking, is proving particular popular with UAE bankers looking to enhance their professional qualifications.
Other popular Masters courses include education, engineering, project management, built environment and information technology.
In order to manage the high volume of inquiries, BUiD is rolling out an extended series of Open Days and briefings across the UAE, building on its events in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi in December 2006.
The first event will be a special Open Day, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Abu Dhabi on Monday 7th January, to offer potential students in the UAE's capital city the opportunity to meet with a range of BUiD's experts and discuss the positive impact of Masters Education.
"We have started the year with a higher-than-expected number of inquiries and applications, as more and more people recognise the competitive and career advantages that higher education can deliver," said David Lock, Registrar and Acting Chief Executive of BUiD.
"BUiD students made a demonstrable contribution to a wide range of industries and to the community in 2006, and we are confident that the new intake will achieve similarly strong results in 2007," added Lock.
More Scholarships are now available for the February intake, so BUiD expects to attract even more applications from highly motivated students. Prospective students can also find out more about BUiD and its programmes by visiting its Knowledge Village campus in Dubai between 09:00 and 17:00 Saturday to Thursday.
BUiD offers Masters Programmes and Continuing Professional Development courses in Information Technology, Project Management, IT Management, Banking and Finance, the Built Environment, and Education.
