etisalat sponsors 9-ball Open Championship 2007

etisalat announced its sponsorship for the 9-ball Open Championship 2007, in keeping with its ongoing support for sports in the community.
Players from 11 Arab countries will participate in one of the most prestigious billiards championships in the region, representing the best of the best in the sport.
Sultan Al Joker, General Secretary, UAE Billiards and Snooker Association, praised etisalat for sponsoring this championship and said: "etisalat is one of the leading corporations in the nation, lending its support to various sports by sponsoring championships and competitions. Through this event, the corporation has taken on the role of giving this generation of athletes a chance to participate and compete in different regional and international championships."
Ghanem Al Merri, Assistant General Manager etisalat Dubai Region, said: "Billiards is considered an important and exciting sport. The sport has succeeded in attracting a steady following who are very keen on playing and watching it. We are pleased that this sport has attracted a large section of the United Arab Emirates community as a result of the efforts of the UAE Billiards and Snooker Association."
etisalat has supported and sponsored a variety of events and activities including economical, cultural, social and educational events, and this reflects the corporation's continuous interaction with its clients by being involved in the community's activities. etisalat has sponsored the "etisalat Football League" for the past three years, 'FIFA Football Championship', 'Youth World Cup', World Polo Championship, 'World Chess Open Championship', 'Marine's Sports Championship-Sharjah', 'Emirates Civilization Marathon', 'Marine Sports Championship- Fujeirah', 'Hunting and Equestrian Festival', 'Air Show Festival-Al Ain' and 'Formula 1 Speed Boats Championship' that was recently held in Abu Dhabi.
