  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, January 08 - 2007 at 14:40
  • PRESS RELEASE

The American University in Dubai (AUD) announced a landmark scholarship initiative from real estate developer, Deyaar.

Eligible scholars will be able to take advantage of this great opportunity to fund their studies without the pre-requisite of committing to work solely for Deyaar.

"At Deyaar, we recognize the importance of developing talent, not just for our company, but for the good of society as a whole. Supporting the academic pursuits of UAE Nationals to help enable them earn accreditation for their career development, and endorsing the nation's Emiratization process, are the reasons behind this new initiative. We always aim at being the employer of choice, but we don't want to impose that limit on deserving talent," commented Mr. Ali Sharif, Human Resources Manager of Deyaar.

Mr. Elias Bou Saab, Executive Vice President of the American University in Dubai said, "This is another initiative to be added to the list of scholarships offered at AUD. We are honored to partner with Deyaar in this great initiative that will grant the high achievers the chance to continue their pursuit of university education."

The scholarships are open to all AUD prospective Engineering, Interior Design and Business undergraduate students. Applicants must have a minimum high school average of 80%. A Scholarship entitles the recipient to a waiver of tuition for one academic year (2 semesters/30 credit hours) until graduation. Scholarships are renewed on a yearly basis and students are expected to maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or above by the end of each academic year.

Students on the scholarship program are provided with summer internships with Deyaar until their graduation.
