Mena Telecom officially receives its National Fixed Wireless Service (NFWS) License from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority

Mr. Abdulhakeem Al Khayyat, Chairman of Mena Telecom and General Manager of Kuwait Finance House (Bahrain) stated "we are excited to receive our official National Fixed Wireless Service (NFWS) license following the ceremony on Monday 8 January at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).'
Representing Kuwait Finance House (Bahrain) Mr. Abdul Razak Jawahery, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Mena Telecom said, "Our plans for creating a serious alternative for customers seeking telecoms solutions are on track and we are happy with Mena Telecom's progress. We thank the TRA for their consistent support which is shown by liberalizing the telecoms market in the Kingdom. The move is positive for the economy, the business community and end-users, and we look forward to being part of this strategy."
Mr Jawahery continued by saying that Mena Telecom's NFWS license will facilitate the implementation of WiMax across the Kingdom. WiMax is the latest development in wireless networking technology and will deliver high-speed Internet access, as well as telephony and other telecommunication services for businesses and individuals across the nation. It will provide a real alternative to landline technology and it will provide nomadic services for customers. No longer will customers be constrained by wires, they can move their telecom and IT devices around the home or take them to the office; either way their service will always be there and ready to use and always at affordable prices.
