- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, January 11 - 2007 at 16:47
- PRESS RELEASE
Tiger Woods will not be the only successful player returning for the 2007 Dubai Desert Classic following the announcement that Emirates will be continuing as the Official Airline and Co-Sponsor of the PGA European event.
As the Official Airline and Co-Sponsor, Emirates is promoting the event by offering excellent value for money packages for visitors from around the world. The packages are valid from the 1st to the 10th of February 2007.
The tournament will be preceded by a challenge match on the 30th January with six high-profile players, including Woods, lining up for the honours at the new par-3 course of the Emirates Golf Club. The traditional pro-am will be played on Wednesday, 31st January.
The packages provide admission to the Dubai Desert Classic 2007 on all days from 1st to 4th February, including the Pro AM on 31st January. The Desert Classic Season pass and documentation will be delivered to the clients resort or hotel.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates' Executive Vice President Commercial Operations Worldwide, said, "These packages are super value for money and we are proud to be able to offer this to our customers. Even if you are not a golf pro, this is the perfect opportunity to get to know the game and also rub shoulders with some of the world's greatest players at the pristine Emirates Golf Course.
"We expect to receive a very good response to this promotion and look forward to hosting our guests here in Dubai."
The packages are available for a minimum of four nights stay with a choice of hotels ranging from three- to five-star ideally located in Dubai and carry an option to extend.
Customers also receive assistance upon arrival at Dubai International Airport, an Arabian Adventures welcome pack with Privilege Discount Card, a 96-hour visa and return transfers from airport to hotel by seat in coach. The four night's accommodation is on a bed-and-breakfast basis and the price includes all tax and service charges.
Children and young adults under the age of 18 will be allowed free entry to the course on every day of the tournament provided they are accompanied by an adult.
Spectators can move freely around the golf course, but must stay outside the ropes. Controlled crossing points will be clearly marked and should be used when crossing fairways.
Emirates is one of the fastest growing airlines and operates the youngest fleet of 100 Boeing and Airbus aircraft in the skies. The award-winning airline is in the vanguard of industry innovations and constantly strives to give the customer the best value for money possible. Packages like these reinforce the airline's commitment to its customer-centric policies and evoke customer loyalty.
