African runners have taken out the first three places in both the men's and women's sections of the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon which was run on Friday. Askale Magarsa of Ethiopia won the women's race in a new course record time, and Kenyan William Rotich became the new men's champion. The UAE's Mubarak Al Minhali won the men's 10km event.
