- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) recently launched the 17th issue of Dubai Industrial Directory 2006-2007
Nuha Mohammed Safar, Director of Marketing and Communication Department at the DCCI, said the new version of Dubai Industrial Directory includes the latest and up-to-date information of Dubai industrial sector to enable the members of Dubai Chamber and the local business community to make advantage of the information and statistics published in the directory.
"Launching our new industrial directory coincides with the 40th anniversary of the DCCI establishment during which the Chamber experienced the phases of Dubai's development and the increase in the number of its members and businessmen inside and outside Dubai, in addition to its commitment to meet their needs and provide them with the best quality services," said Safar.
"Dubai Industrial Directory 2006-2007 is meant to be a useful reference that covers the aspects of Dubai's rapid economic development, mainly in the industrial sector. It is also a proper approach for those willing to open new channels of industrial cooperation and business opportunities with Dubai manufacturers, exporters and importers."
She pointed out that the directory, apart from its long lists of names and addresses of the industrial companies registered at the DCCI, was the result of the Chamber's effort in coping with the latest economic changes and the non-stop work to provide and upgrade new services to its members and the business community.
Apart from the lists and activities of more than 1900 industrial institutions in Dubai, the new directory also provides useful information about Dubai's infrastructure and related government bodies, the enterprises dealing in trading with tools, equipment and raw materials used in setting, manufacturing, operating and maintaining plants and other factories specialized in marketing safety and vocational health accessories. The directory includes names of the consultative companies which prepare industrial studies, feasible studies and other marketing and promotional researches, in addition to a list of commercial banks and some other advertisements.
Safar pointed out that the new directory aimed at supplying detailed information and activities of classified industrial companies who are members at the DCCI. It also highlights the key role of the DCCI in providing authentic industrial information to serve the industrial sector in Dubai.
"The industrial sector in Dubai is a driving force to the overall development in the UAE, and one of the largest and fast growing non-oil sectors in the country. The development of Dubai's infrastructure has created an ideal climate for individual investments, providing the industrial sectors with various facilities and incentives such as tax and customs duties exemptions. The new directory became one of the most important tools of promoting the growing industrial sector," Safar explained.
The DCCI's new industrial directory contains lists of names, telephone numbers and addresses of more than 1900 companies classified alphabetically to make it easier for manufacturers to get their information.
The new directory contains four main sections, the first of which includes general information about the industrial activity in Dubai, its growing process and other related statistic figures, as well as information about the procedures and stipulations of licensing the industrial establishments. The second chapter of the directory contains a list of the industrial activities indexed according to the standard classification of economic activities adopted by the DCCI, in addition to the addresses of companies according to each specialization.
The third section of the new directory includes an alphabetical list of names of companies and establishments with its commercial titles, detailed addresses, own activities, establishing year, number of workforce, capital and the projects carried out each company. The fourth chapter contains information about the enterprises which provide services for the industrial sector establishments.
The DCCI has published 8,000 hardcopies of the Dubai Industrial Directory 2006-2007 in Arabic and English, in addition to 4,000 related CDs in English and 1,000 CDs in Arabic. The Chamber will also distribute free copies of the directory to embassies, consulates and trade centers, in addition to business councils in Dubai, local and federal government establishments, universities, welfare and social associations, cultural and sports clubs, commercial missions and delegations and 5-4 and 3-star hotels.
The DCCI urged the business community to use Dubai Industrial Directory as a significant and trustful reference to deal with Dubai manufacturers and importers, as the Chamber has worked hard to present this directory as one of its numerous value-added services provided to its members and those willing to make business deals with the DCCI's members.
