The one-year agreement, revealed today at Dubai's biggest ever Big 5 construction and contracting show, gives the Saudi Arabian firm sole Middle East distribution rights for Hart Door Systems' products. It is expected to lead to Al Zamil manufacturing the doors in the region.
'Al Zamil has a reputation for introducing innovative products to the UAE and regional markets. We envisage a long term relationship that will see Al Zamil marketing and possibly manufacturing our products,' said Doug Hart, Managing Director, Hart Door Systems.
'There is great potential in the region for energy saving doors. They give a very strong payback by reducing energy bills by up to 50 per cent and providing environmental benefits.'
Hart says his company, exhibiting at the Big 5 for the first time, has received strong interest in its range from both Dubai International and Bahrain International airports. The company has already installed Speedor energy saving doors at two sites, in Dubai and Sharjah, and has a third contract in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Al Zamil's portfolio of international companies includes LG, DaimlerChrysler, Coca-Cola, Pepsi Cola, Toshiba, Fuji Film, Bechtel and Saudi Aramco.
Similarly Hart supplies doors to many of the UK's leading companies including Ford, Rolls Royce, Land Rover, Nissan and British Airways.
Hart is among 43 companies taking part in a UK government sponsored pavilion at the Big 5, it is one of 17 national groups at the show, which spans seven Dubai World Trade Centre halls.
Meanwhile, the UAE's ETA Environmental Engineering Services announced at the show that it has begun retooling of its Al Quoz plant in Dubai to manufacture American-designed EEC high speed biosystems, which produce non-potable water from sewage.
The system is making its Middle East debut at Big 5. 'There's huge potential for this system which is more compact and mobile and requires extremely low maintenance,' said Eng. M.I. Doubouni, Senior Manager, ETA. 'Water produced from sewage can be used extensively for irrigation, which makes the system particularly suitable for hotels and leisure complexes.'
