It was able, through various workshops, conferences and sessions which it took part in as organizer or participant, to reflect the bright image of the businesswoman in Dubai, the characteristics of her experience in the business field and the qualifications that allowed her to attain leadership positions in many institutions and companies.

The council also played a role in upgrading networking between businesswomen from all over the world. This was with a view to give opportunities for increased relations with business women outside the country which would create chances for partnerships and joint ventures.

Mrs. Raja Al Gurg, DBWC president, said that the council had been working last year on increasing activities to introduce regional and international societies of developed nations to the Emarati businesswoman with a view to showcasing how she has reached high levels in both business and political areas because of her ability to handle responsibilities, in addition to her high professionalism in managing any type of work. Mrs Raja also pointed out that the council wanted to show the decades-long experience of Emarati businesswomen that has enabled her to pave her way professionally and allowed her to work beside men for the benefit of the country.

Mrs. Raja added that the progress of businesswomen in Dubai during the last years should be credited to the large and unlimited support of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, in addition to the facilities provided by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the council to be able to implement its activities professionally.

DBWC Board will meet this coming Thursday (18/1/2007) to discuss the general business program of 2007 which will focus on enriching the reputation of Dubai businesswomen in all regional and international categories and locations.

The program for last year included its participation in many conferences inside and outside the UAE. DBWC it also held its annual Ramadan Gathering for the committee and members of the council.

The council participated as well in the "Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign" which was been organized in cooperation with MEPI and Citigroup.

The council also signed an agreement with the Arab Business Women Council during the visit of Sheikh Hessa Saad Al Abdullah Al Salem Al Sabah, president of ABWC, to Dubai.
