Noor builds $1.5bn refinery in Syria

Kuwait-based Noor Financial Investment Company will start building a new $1.5bn oil refinery in Syria before the end of 2007, according to The Syria Report, which is carried on AME Info. The 140,000 bpd refinery will be the first in Syria to be developed by private investors. The Syrian government will supply the refinery with both light and heavy crude oil. Construction is expected to take four years.
