HRH Haya Bint Al Hussein honours Tamkeen 2006 graduates

HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE, and Ruler of Dubai today visited Tamkeen, a Dubai-based organisation that rehabilitates and trains the visually impaired.
HRH Princess Haya toured the centre's facilities and was informed of its vision to empower visually impaired individuals in the UAE through training, support and counselling. Tamkeen team briefed HRH on the centre's skill building programmes designed to empower the competencies of the visually impaired to prepare them for suitable job placements.
During her visit, HRH Princess Haya donated 250 copies of the Holy Quran in Braille to the students, who expressed their profound gratitude and said the Braille copies would enable them to easily recite and memorise the Holy Quran.
The donation is in line with Princess Haya's commitment to charity work and her ongoing support of organizations that focus on empowering physically challenged people.
Tamkeen students thanked Princess Haya for her care and generous support of people with special needs, particularly the visually impaired. They said the visit provided them with a strong incentive to further develop their skills. It also encouraged Tamkeen team to double their efforts to enhance services and programmes for the visually impaired across the country.
HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein honoured 20 visually impaired graduates of Tamkeen's 2006 English and IT courses. She praised the students' commitment to acquire knowledge and enhance their professional capabilities to find suitable job placement.
