They are competing in the Al Masaood Pro-Am competition heralding the start of the 2007 Championship.
Teeing off at 11:30am this morning on the Abu Dhabi Golf Club Championship Course, the ALDAR teams competed against 29 others from the additional major sponsors of the event.
The 2007 Abu Dhabi Golf Championship has been organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.. It will be played out over the next four days, beginning on Thursday January 18th and ending on Sunday January 21st at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club. The Championship is part of the European Tour and has attracted a field of 120 players: 112 leading golf professionals from the European Tour and 8 tournament invites. The winner will collect US$333,330 of the overall US$2 million prize purse.
Commenting on the forthcoming Championship, ALDAR Chairman Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh said: "The four days of play promise to offer spectacular golf from some of the sport's leading players and will assist in establishing Abu Dhabi as an international golfing and leisure destination.
"ALDAR Properties has a number of projects currently in development which will add first-class golf courses - designed by some of the world's best known professionals - to Abu Dhabi's attractions."
If you cannot make it to the Championship over the next four days you can enjoy the television coverage from home with the ALDAR 'Virtual Eye' -a mix of real life and graphic simulation using 3D models, global positioning systems and realistic fairway flyovers that provide real time information about players' ball positions and course information.
