Construction near completion on the 5-star luxury Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Asia Pacific's leading luxury hotel group, has announced that construction is near completion on the five-star luxury hotel, Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, with an opening date expected to be in the second quarter of 2007 for the first phase of the complex.

The 21-acre project includes 214 luxurious rooms and suites all with balconies, as well as seven villas, each with its own theme. The Residence will house 161 spacious serviced apartments, ranging from studio to four-bedroom units. All guests benefit from exceptional recreation facilities throughout the complex including four outdoor swimming pools, a health club with private pool, children's pool and playground, five private beaches and a variety of sporting activities.

All rooms are equipped with broadband Internet access, a computer data port, voice mail and an LCD television and DVD player. The complex also boasts a state-of-the-art business centre and four conference and meeting rooms. Being situated only 15 minutes from the Abu Dhabi Corniche and five minutes from the new Convention Centre, the complex is in an ideal location for the business traveller.

Phase one includes the five-star luxury Shangri-La hotel, seven villas, meeting and conference facilities, and the food and beverage outlets. Shangri-La's signature spa CHI, the Shangri-La Residence and a lively souk (market) encompass phase two, that will be completed by the end of the year.
