The Design House presented its trademark haute couture in a show that exuded Oriental charm. Set against the backdrop of Arabic fusion music the show presented over 25 outfits carried with panache by professional models. The event was organized as part of the second leg of Dubai Fashion 2007 running until Feb 1.

Dominated by pastels, Scalini's latest colour palate also offered earthy colours, gold and copper while the wedding outfits were mainly in classic white. There were some dresses in animal prints, black and scarlet red to offer variety. Flawless cuts were the hallmark of the neatly tapering flowing gowns that were created mainly from silk, chiffon and crepe. Embellished with traditional embroidery and Swarovski crystal the gowns needed no further accessories to accentuate the look and were complete in themselves. What stood out in most designs were the perfect seams and drapes and the richness of fabrics that gave them a royal look. Charming and imbued by understated elegance overall the collection was an absolute stunner.

The show presented the creations of debutante designer Nisreen Lishaa. Under the guidance of Waffa Hanna, the owner and design head of Scalini, the young designer from Scalini showed her promising collection. Excited by the great start to a long and successful career ahead Nisreen sounded very excited about the big launch of her designs. According to her Creations, under the Dubai Fashion Festival, provides an ideal platform to young designers like her to launch their careers. She said, 'Creations 2007 is a great impetus for me. I am glad my designs have been chosen to be showcased in this show.'

Inspired by traditional Arabic designs Nisreen's collection was in line with Scalini's design concepts showcasing the exclusive haute couture in typical Scalini way. Scalini and Nisreen are now hoping to see the latest collection being launched throughout the Gulf and the region. The elegant outfits are sure to get a tremendous response from design connoisseurs who appreciate beauty and style.

Scalini's show will be followed by Nahid Al Marri's collection on January 20 which will showcase abayas and sheilas and traditional wear and M&A Abaya Art will also showcase abayas and sheilas on the same evening. On January 21 Madi International (Mixed) will present a hair show while Kankana Khatwani from India will show Indian and western wear for both men and women.
