ARAMEX invests USD1.5 million in wireless hand-held scanners for its ground couriers

The hi-tech devices are now carried and used by ARAMEX ground couriers in the Gulf countries in addition to Jordan and Lebanon.

The new system provides ARAMEX customers with up to the minute information on the delivery and collection of their shipments through hand-held scanners, carried by the ARAMEX delivery staff. These advanced mobile devices ensure immediate reporting by transmitting delivery information wirelessly and making it available to ARAMEX customers on demand.

This technology is essential to the development of the services provided by ARAMEX to various industry sectors, especially the banking segment in the GCC and Levant countries.

ARAMEX plans a phased roll out of the new ground courier system at its other offices around the world. It expects that the global implementation and deployment of the system and related services will be complete in 2007.
