Omania E-commerce backs Digital Nation
- Oman: Tuesday, January 23 - 2007 at 09:31
- PRESS RELEASE
Omania E-Commerce (OEC), the sultanate's premier e-commerce company has signed an MoU with Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) to support the Tech Park's Digital Nation seminar series which starts 4 March at the Crowne Plaza Hotel with a seminar entitled 'Your Mobile: The Next Frontier.'
"Governments are responding to citizen demands for electronic access to information and services. Added to that, merger and acquisition activity is at an all time high and companies are struggling to connect meaningfully with their stakeholders. These forces and others are driving change in organizations in Oman and across the region."
"Indeed, in the network economy, mastering digital innovation has become a core competency for corporate survival and this is one of the key reasons we at OEC are joining hands with KOM to spread this important message through the Digital Nation seminar series," remarked Al Harthy.
OEC is expected to bring substantial value to an initiative that's already attracted support from Ericsson, Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Oman Economic Review, Infocomm, SAP Arabia and Infoline. "The OEC team will show Digital Nation attendees how efficiency and costs can be improved, and how both regional and international market access can be expanded through e-commerce. We're excited about their participation in this important set of seminars," said Sultan Al Habsi, CEO, PEIE.
KOM has launched various outreach ICT initiatives in recent years. "These programs are intended to market KOM and its tenants as well as help drive the long-term development of the sultanate's IT industry and the economy. Our initiatives also help foster greater co-operation between Government, business, industry and academia on the domestic and international stage," remarked Mohammed Al Maskari, KOM's Director General.
