Mr. Walter Graenicher, Service Sector President of Alstom Power and Novak Stevanovic, Senior VP and Manager of ABB's Power Generation business in Europe and the Middle East are two new key speakers at the conference and will be joining an exciting programme of topics and discussion over the 3 day event.
These two senior industry professionals will join Lothar Balling, Vice President Steam Power Plants and Emerging Plant Solution Business at Siemens Power Generation and Richard Maali, Commercial Director of Ansaldo Energia in the conference new session.
POWER-GEN Middle East new session, which will be held under the theme of 'Regional and global market power markets - the leading international players' perspective', will see these four top industry leaders share their perspectives on the state of power market development in the Middle East region, in the context of electricity market activity elsewhere in the world.
When POWER-GEN Middle East was first organized, the Gulf region has witnessed unprecedented economic growth which is obviously reflected in the major construction programme financed partially by the high oil prices. This buzz is threatened by the inability to provide the necessary utilities and power and water supplies. The current demand for electricity in the GCC countries is 60GW and it is expected to witness 3 fold increase within the coming 25 years, hence it is not surprising, the power sector has to meet this challenge.
The conference will review the technical and strategic issues through 60 presentations that will focus on power generation sectors, and relevant transmission and distribution industries. This information session will be a forum to discuss the region's needs in the coming years. In addition, it will provide delegates with the opportunity to exchange their views and concepts with respect to the session topics and discuss the investment requirements and technology needs.
POWER-GEN Middle East will be held over three days with the participation of more than 100 exhibitors from the Middle East and international companies. One of the points of strength of this event is that a number of group of companies represented in this event in terms of advancement of technologies and geographical locations worldwide will include GE Energy, Alsthom Power, ABB, DOSAN in addition to MAPNA, Kanoo Group of Companies, Al Masood Group of Companies and MAPNA, the largest power generation company in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
POWER-GEN Middle East is a great opportunity for the power generation industry and provides a unique platform from which the market can develop to meet the region's power requirements, share information and conduct business in a face-to-face environment.
With over 100 exhibitors and over 4000 expected visitors from over 50 countries, POWER-GEN Middle East has become the most important annual meeting place for international power executives with interests in the Middle East.
