The decision to become an EIA partner underlines DWTC's commitment to bringing world-class exhibitions and events to the UAE and supporting the wider development of the Middle East's exhibition industry.

DWTC has also joined the Association of Event Venues (AEV), a specialist section of the EIA that promotes activities which actively improve the quality of visitor experience at leading events. Within the global exhibition industry, there is a growing demand that events become more interactive and provide better access to information, and the EIA is one of the bodies driving initiatives in this area.

The AEV has a strong international membership base, working in tandem with its fellow associations - The Association of Exhibition Contractors (AEC) and The Association of Event Organisers (AEO).

"We have started the New Year with a firm commitment to furthering the quality and popularity of the events hosted at DWTC-managed properties and to contributing to the professional development of the industry as a whole," said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre.

"The EIA is a prestigious, globally recognised organisation which provides a united voice for industry leaders committed to providing the highest standards. DWTC is delighted to be sponsoring and taking an active role in its work,"

he added.

Launched in January 2006, the EIA is based in Britain and was formed by organisers of events such as the Ideal Home Exhibition and the International Motor Show, working in partnership with venues such as the NEC, ExCel - London and Earls Court.

EIA concentrates on driving industry wide issues to five main target audiences globally - the media, clients, agencies/media planners, government and academia.

"I am very pleased Dubai World Trade Centre has decided to become members and, of course, delighted that they have had the vision to work as an active sponsor for EIA," said Trevor Foley, Group CEO of EIA.

"Clearly, the exhibition and events industry in Dubai and the wider Middle East is going from strength to strength and DWTC has played a central role in enabling this. Their support will allow us to start ramping up the industry marketing campaign in 2007," he added.
