2007 Saab Models arrive at Gargash Motors in Dubai
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, January 23 - 2007 at 11:26
- PRESS RELEASE
General Motors and Gargash Motors have announced the arrival of the 2007 Saab models in Dubai.
"For 2007 Saab will bring new and exciting products to customers in Dubai," said Mohammed Hmeid, premium brands manager at General Motors Middle East.
"Saab is in the middle of an aggressive product development offensive which will provide customers with new safety innovations, interior and exterior refinements and new enhancement features.
"Saab's safety standards are the backbone of its emotional functionality. We're constantly raising car safety levels and implementing real-life safety philosophy that leads to range of safety innovations every year."
Gargash Motors has been operating in the automotive industry since the 1950s. Gargash Motors started its partnership with General Motors in 2000 when it became the sole distributor of Saab in Dubai. The partnership saw Gargash Motors focusing on customer loyalty and building a strong customer base for Saab. Gargash Motors also provides service from highly qualified and GM certified technicians and round the clock road side assistance to its customers.
Saab 9-3
The Saab 9-3 continues to deliver a compelling mix of European style and turbocharged performance. Saab enhances the 9-3 range for the 2007 model year with a new interior, which features a redesigned cockpit with new automatic climate control and "infotainment" systems, a larger instrument cluster with chrome details and new interior trim.
The Saab 9-3 Convertible adds Electric Blue metallic, Smoke Beige metallic and Arctic White to its exterior colour palette, as well as a tan Convertible top (available midyear), while the 9-3 Sport Sedan and SportCombi are now available in Titan Grey metallic. Steel Grey metallic is discontinued.
All Saab 9-3s get optional 16-inch, 17-inch or 18-inch wheels. A Bose stereo is available on the Sport Sedan.
All top-of-the-line, high-performance Saab 9-3 Aero models - Sport Sedan, Convertible and SportCombi - are powered by one of the industry's "10 Best Engines," as determined by Ward's AutoWorld Magazine: Saab's turbocharged aluminium 2.8 litre V6 engine that produces 250 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.
A six-speed Sentronic automatic transmission is standard with available steering wheel controls. The 2.0T models are powered by a 210-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 300 Nm of torque.
Saab 9-5
The 2007 Saab 9-5 line-up continues to offer a well-rounded package of performance, luxury and value in the midsize sport sedan category. Because the 9-5 underwent a thorough refresh last year, which included exterior, interior, chassis and powertrain enhancements, changes for 2007 are minimal. An Anniversary Special Edition debuts midyear, featuring Ice Blue metallic paint and a specific leather interior and 17-inch wheels. Titan Gray metallic replaces Steel Gray metallic on non-Anniversary models.
The 2007 Saab 9-5 Sedan has optional Aero and Visibility Packages. The Aero Package offers a sport chassis, sport seats and metallic interior trim. The Visibility Package consists of Xenon headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and rear parking assist.
The Saab 9-5 is powered by a single 2.3 litre inline 4 cylinder Turbo engine with 260 horsepower - a 10-horsepower increase over 2005 - and 350 Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed automatic Sentronic transmission.
Saab 9-7X
When the 9-7X was launched last year, it forged into a market previously untapped by Saab, bringing the brand's progressive design, driver-focused performance and functionality to the mid-luxury SUV segment. For 2007, a tyre pressure monitor system becomes standard equipment on the 9-7X in 2007 and one new colour, Crystal Blue metallic, has been added.
Available with a 290-horsepower inline six-cylinder or 300-horsepower V8 engine with Active Fuel Management technology, all models feature standard all-wheel drive. The five passenger 9-7X features Saab's clean European design, including the signature three-port grille; ignition cylinder in the centre console behind the gear lever; premium interior features and materials; and steering, suspension and brakes tuned to deliver sporty and fun-to-drive performance (including lowered ride height).
