Yahoo! is by far the leading online destination of visitors from the Middle East. More than 3 million Yahoo! users generate 500 million pages a month from the Middle East, North Africa region.
According to Dr. Irfan Ahmad, Director, Yahoo! Middle East Ad Sales, the upward trend in usage of Yahoo! is continuing in the Middle East, 'Despite the fact that the UAE has the highest density of internet users in the region, a 25% growth in users over the last year is due in large part to the efforts being made under the guidance of HH General Sheikh Mohammed to promote Dubai as an information hub of the region. The launch of Dubai Silicon Oasis is just another step aimed at pushing the UAE to the frontiers of IT.'
Yahoo! users in UAE cross 500,000
In September 2002, more than 512,000 unique users from the UAE logged on to Yahoo! and viewed more than 80 million pages of the world's No.1 internet portal.
