Western Digital continues to increase market share, as the digital market grows at a staggering rate across the region.
Western Digital's growth rate for its operation in the Middle East has more than doubled for calendar year 2001, with an annual growth rate of 30%.
'Regional demand for digital storage is outstripping the rest of the world with growth rates of 25%, compared to Europe at just 5%,' said Klaas de Vos, Western Digital vice president and general manager, EMEA.
Western Digital hard drives offer one of the most economic and reliable solutions for mass storage activities, such as Internet downloads, digital image storage, movie and music downloads, Internet gaming, and home video editing.
de Vos added, 'Western Digital is providing the Middle East market with innovative, affordable, and reliable desktop PC storage solutions that have earned it the number one position in the region by winning the trust of our customers, and working with reliable partners like Al-Yousuf.'
Al-Yousuf, the leading regional reseller of best-of-breed hard disk drives, is the longest standing pan Arab reseller for Western Digital and is equally committed to being the first to provide users in the Middle East with best-of-breed, broad-based storage capacity.
'Al-Yousuf shares the same goal of offering advanced technology to meet the needs of IT end-users in the Middle East. Speed and performance are key client considerations, and both ??? with the new Western Digital products,' said Marwan Sami, general manager of Al-Yousuf Distribution.
'With around-the-clock technical support services and a track record of IT successes in the region, Al-Yousuf Distribution is the ideal partner to enable Western Digital to continue providing Middle East markets with leading-edge storage solutions and products,' said Rauf Baig, Western Digital sales manager, Middle East, Africa, and South East Asia.
