Following this delivery, the company awarded Jet Aviation with another completions contract for an Airbus 340-600. The aircraft will arrive at the Basel facility in April 2008 and delivery to the client is scheduled for mid 2009.

The cabin interior of the green A320-200, which was designed by Francis Munch of Studio E/Motion, was completed within only ten months and the aircraft was delivered to the client in September. The interior features handcrafted artistic paint elements and consists of an executive seating area, two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms as well as a combined conference/dining area and first class seating in the rear of the aircraft. High end electronics such as video conferencing facilities, satellite TV and communication, internet access via WLAN, audio & video on demand as well as multiple cameras including a fin tip camera are features of this VVIP aircraft. Passengers can further experience programmable ceiling and carpet fiber optics and RGB lighting.

Following the delivery of the A320, the Saad Group awarded Jet Aviation Basel with the outfitting of the company's new green VVIP Airbus 340-600. Just as the A320, this aircraft, for which Jet Aviation Basel will build a full-size mock up, will once again be designed by Francis Munch. Features of the aircraft with a unique, modern VVIP-configuration will include various guest suites, bars, lower lobe crew rest arrangements, master bedrooms with lavatories, dining and private areas as well as first class seating. Besides satellite TV and audio/video on demand, the Airbus A340-600 will be equipped with multiple SATCOM systems allowing passengers to connect to the internet while airborne. The aircraft will also be equipped with unique state-of-the-art lighting features. The A340 is scheduled to arrive in Basel in April of next year and delivery to the client will be in mid 2009.

Over the past months, the Basel location has been awarded completions and refurbishment projects for several aircraft including a Boeing 747-400, a Boeing 757-200, an Airbus 330-200 and two Airbus 319 Corporate Jetliners.

Jet Aviation is investing CHF 42 million into its Basel facility. It will add a further 31,020 mē (33,895 sq. ft). to the center, including a new hangar large enough to accommodate an A380 and a Boeing 747-8 as well as extra shop and ramp space. This wide-body hangar will be completed in the first half of 2008. Jet Aviation Basel, established in 1967, employs more than 1,200 professionals. The facility has in-house design and engineering departments, along with on-site cabinetry, upholstery, fiberglass and paint shops.

The facility is capable of outfitting jets as large as an Airbus A380 or the Boeing 747-400 series and has already completed several Airbus 319ACJ, A320 and Boeing B737, B757, B767 and B747-400 aircraft. Jet Aviation Basel also provides aircraft maintenance and repair services to a wide variety of business jets. It is a factory approved service center by Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, Gulfstream, and Learjet. The location is also rated as a jet aircraft repair station by the FAA (Repair Station #QV1Y440K), and the EASA part 145 (#CH.145.0232) which includes 27 national aviation authorities.
