The ENVIRONMENT 2007 Exhibition is organized by Reed Exhibitions Middle East whereas the international conference focusing on Integrated Sustainable Energy Resources in Arid Regions is organized by Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD).

By the end of the conference, we hope to have developed a clear vision for the international community to face the challenges of sustainable integrated energy development in arid regions.'
112 speakers including 82 international experts and 30 ESCWA (Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia) officials have been invited to the Conference. In addition, 150 international conference delegates have registered to attend.

Known speakers in the field will include H.E Mervat Tallawy, Under-Secretary General and Executive Secretary, UN-ESCWA; Prof. Ali Sayigh, Chairman of World Renewable Energy Congress; Dr. Habib El Habr, Director and Regional Representative, UNEP/ROWA; Dr. Malik Kabariti, National Energy Research Center, Jordan; Dr. Larry Kazmerski, Director of US National Center for Photovoltaics and Dr. Fatima Al Awadi, Kuwait Foundation of the Advancement of Sciences,' added Al Nuwais.
On February 1st, 2007, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), will organise the 'Arab Regional Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development: Strategies, Policies and Plans,' to be held in cooperation with the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, the CAMRE Technical Secretariat and UNEP/ROWA in Abu Dhabi. This Forum is open to the public.
Stating that the conduct of the ENVIRONMENT 2007 Exhibition would be a milestone for Reed Exhibitions, Frederic Theux, President, Reed Exhibitions Middle East said, 'The event marks the entry of Reed into Abu Dhabi. We are proud to have the opportunity to focus on the critical aspect of the Environment at our inaugural event in the UAE capital. The combination of a world class exhibition and an international conference makes Environment 2007 a 'must attend' for all stakeholders in this field.'
Theux also stated that the exhibition which features 338 exhibitors from 28 countries and 8 national pavilions will cover an area of 5,578 square metres, an increase of 20% over the last edition. Japan will have the largest national pavilion at 840 square meters followed by Germany.
Since its inception in 2001, the exhibition has emerged as a key platform to evaluate the latest products, services and technologies in the environmental field. Senior decision-makers from the municipalities, water and electricity companies, public works departments and environmental bodies will be among the more than 10,000 visitors expected to attend.
