A prestigious event of the Dubai Shopping Festival, the Emaar International Art Symposium features competitions for painters and sculptures. The painting competition is ongoing at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club at Arabian Ranches; and the sculpting competition is held at Global Village.

The sculptors are giving the final shape to works on art in stone and have been at work since January 7 while the painting competition began on January 14. Both competitions conclude today. A five member jury will evaluate the works and three prize winners will be selected from each category. They will be awarded at the closing gala dinner to be held on January 28 at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.

"The Emaar International Art Symposium celebrates Dubai's creative spirit and is truly a global showcase of talent," said Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, UAE Managing Director, Emaar Properties. "The creative standards of the artists are excellent and have won the appreciation of art lovers in the region."

Sponsors of the Emaar International Art Symposium are Emirates Airlines as the official carrier, the Dubai Shopping Festival and the Global Village.
