Nattiq continues its efforts to raise awareness on adaptive technology throughout the ME

Nattiq Technologies completed last week an advanced training course to a selected number of Lebanese blind trainees in Beirut.

The training followed a deal in which Nattiq supplied the Youth Association of the Blind, YAB, in Beirut with advanced screen reader software as well as Arabic OCR software.

The training was provided by Mr. Mohammed Al-Shar'a, a Member of Nattiq's Technical Team, who is blind since birth. Mr. Al-Shar'a conducted similar training in Jordan, Bahrain and Oman. The trainees enhanced their knowledge with Hal screen reader which enables blind users to have full access to computers. YAB provides blind Lebanese not only with up-to-date IT training, but also helps them find high technology jobs within Lebanon.

"I am very impressed as to how intelligent the Lebanese blind trainees were, they came to the week-long training very prepared and alert. Their training tests came with great results", said Mr. Mohammed Al-Shara'a,

The trainees who completed the training course will act as trainers for other YAB members and friends throughout Lebanon.

Nattiq is helping blind Arabic-speaking users gain privacy and independence in using information and communication technology throughout the Middle East. It continues to localize the latest adaptive technology invented in the West into Arabic. Nattiq conducts training for blind users in the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt and Tunis. Hundreds of blind Arabic-speaking users benefited from such training which is helping them have equal access to information.
