Tatweer, launched in December 2005, currently manages a portfolio of nine market-leading companies within diverse economic sectors, comprising energy and healthcare, tourism and entertainment, and industry and knowledge.
Saeed Al Muntafiq said:
"The appointment of Khalid Al Malik comes at a time when Tatweer is rapidly expanding its diverse portfolio of companies across six economic sectors. I am confident his experience and commitment will reflect positively on the progress on the company, and further drive our expansion plans to create a major business hub out of Dubai and the region."
Al Malik said: "I am truly looking forward to this opportunity to lead Tatweer to higher levels of success. I realize this opportunity comes with a great deal of responsibility to further contribute to the development of Dubai, its projects, and future prosperity."
With ambitious expansion plans in the pipeline, Tatweer's tourism and entertainment division consists of Dubailand, Global Village, Bawadi, Mizin and the recently launched golf resort, "The Tiger Woods Dubai". The other successful companies under the Tatweer umbrella are Dubai Industrial City, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai Energy, Dubai Mercantile Exchange (commodities trading) and Moutamarat (knowledge).
Commenting on Tatweer's rapid and successful growth, Al Muntafiq added: "Managing one the most ambitious projects amongst Dubai Holding entities underscores our standing as one of Dubai's most successful corporations.
"In the future, we will ensure that each of the companies continue to incorporate high global standards and reflect consistent ethical values, as well as generating robust commercial returns."
While sustaining best business practices, Tatweer is committed to developing qualified nationals who can assume leadership roles in the future and providing consistent training to all of its employees. Tatweer's dedicated Emiratisation programme has resulted in a substantial increase in the number of nationals within the organisation.
