This was so obvious through the huge audience of the first two days of the event, which exceeded 55 thousand people and came from Abu Dhabi and all other emirates, and also from outside the country.

The air shows, which are hosted by Al Ain every year, have firmed up the city's regional and international position as a major tourist destination of multiple features and advantages. Al Ain Aerobatic Show has become an annual world sport tradition and a landmark for the city, especially that it is the only event of its kind in the world that is held in winter time, so all the world would focus on the Middle East and particularly the UAE and Al Ain City to enjoy the thrilling aerobatic displays performed by the world's finest pilots and teams.

Al Ain City is distinguished with a lot of tourism, social and recreational activities, which contribute to making the city a major destination for numerous visitors from inside and outside the UAE round the year.

Al Ain, a World Tourist Destination:

Al Ain is known as the Eastern Region because of its geographical location in the UAE. It is 160 kilometers far from the capital Abu Dhabi, and spreads east in the vicinity of the 'Hajar' mountains spreading from the Sultanate of Oman. In the southwest it spreads to the limits of 'Al Ruba Al Khali' desert of Saudi Arabia, and occupies an area of 12955 square kilometers.

In the last few years Al Ain City has occupied a major spot on the world travel map, thanks to its distinguished tourism features and the promotion plan carried out through participations of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority in international exhibitions and travel markets, and also through the festivals and other activities the Authority held in the city, which introduced Al Ain in the best image to both local and foreign tourists.

Al Ain comprises of seven palm oases where man settled ages ago and built houses and castles. It has distinguished tourist locations and cosmic green areas, which gave tourists the reason to call it 'the Garden City' or 'the Green Gulf Garden'. It has more than 71 parks, which are an important breather for people round the year.

Al Ain City also has many other tourist locations, such as the ice rink, the zoo, Jebel Hafit, high class hotels and residences, the historic camel bazaar, old souks, castles and historic structures, Ain Al Faydha, and Mabzara which is distinguished with its warm fountains and vast green areas.

Historic Glimpse:

Al Ain is known as one of the most beautiful green cities in the Arabian Gulf region. It is very quiet, and has fresh air, and holds cultural and historic values of several civilizations, some of which date back to 3000 BC. The city is so proud of having this historic richness, so that it launched its identity with drawings and colors connected with the city and its history.

Before more than 7000 years, in the Stone Age and subsequent ages, man settled in Al Ain region and there he established and developed his communities. Throughout these ages, the city had a strategic position and influenced its surroundings, population and visitors. In the past it was a passage for trails that benefited from its wealth, and now it is a city of originality and modernity and a major destination for the tourists who are enjoying its beauty and services.
