Set for Dubai, the event represents the first in a newly forged alliance between Messe Frankfurt and the CEA.

A high profile delegation hosted by the CEA and Messe Frankfurt attended International CES earlier this month. Key industry players from the region, representatives of the The Electronics Group (TEG), and journalists gained a first hand impression of what they can expect in the future CES Hometech shows in Dubai.

Commenting on behalf of the CEA, Gary Shapiro, President, said "We were delighted to welcome the Messe Frankfurt Delegation to the 2007 International CES. Our international attendees reflect the global reach of the consumer technology revolution. As International CES opened its doors, more than 140,000 industry representatives from 130 countries experienced the rapid expansion of the consumer technology sector. We know the high value that consumers in the Middle East place on owning the latest technology. Our partnership with Messe Frankfurt, which brings the excitement of consumer technology to the global market, is truly valuable to our industry."

The International CES visit proved to be an invaluable experience for the members of the delegation. "It's a fantastic platform to gauge the advancement and more importantly the digital innovations that are bound to change the market in the future "said Mr. Hakimuddin Hussein of GECO, and a member the TEG. While Thiagarajan Dilip, a spokesperson for the TEG, commented that CES "sets the bench mark for all others to follow in our industry. We are seeing first hand the latest developments in consumer electronics and look forward to their advent in the UAE".

Hometech is stage for all such developments. The event, set for May 13-15 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, is billed as the Middle East's most popular and well recognised trade show for domestic devices, gadgetry and home entertainment technology. It also comes with the organisers global reach and industry influence that assure Hometech's future as one of the largest trade shows on the regional calendar.

Speaking on behalf of Hometech's organiser, Messe Franfurt, Chris Hudson, COO said "The Las Vegas visit was a fact finding mission that enabled us to bring together key figures of the industry so that we can ensure that Hometech Middle East is shaped by the requirements of the industry, delivering to both exhibitors and visitors."

The 2007 forecast has already predicted a 'boom' year for the show, which is experiencing phenomenal growth in line with the UAE's burgeoning economic climate. Hometech 2007 is guaranteed to be host to the most innovative players in the field of home technology.
