Carnegie Mellon business administration program continues to be ranked among the best

The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University has again been ranked as third best business school in the United States by the 2006 Wall Street Journal/Harris Interactive ranking of America's top business schools.

In specialty categories, Tepper ranked first in operations management, second in information technology, fourth in finance, sixth in both entrepreneurship and general management and seventh in strategy. The poll was based on surveys completed by 4,125 corporate recruiters.

The Tepper School of Business offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in business administration on Carnegie Mellon's home campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The undergraduate business administration curriculum is offered at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar. Students enrolled in the business administration program at the Education City campus are held to the same exacting standards and follow the same rigorous curriculum set forth by Carnegie Mellon's main campus.

'It's always thrilling when our business program's success in preparing students for their careers is recognized. Surveys such as these are just one way to gauge the excellence of our educational programs and confirm something we know—that Carnegie Mellon and its students are among the best in the world," says Charles E. Thorpe, dean of Carnegie Mellon Qatar.

The only two universities that ranked higher than Carnegie Mellon were the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, followed by Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business.

Carnegie Mellon's academic programs are repeatedly ranked among the best by various organizations, with business school rankings being among the most prestigious honors in the nation. Earlier this year the undergraduate business program also was named as one of the 10 best in annual survey of "America's Best Colleges," by U.S. News & World Report magazine.
