New Group Chief Executive for Standard Chartered visits UAE

Peter Sands, the new Group Chief Executive for Standard Chartered Plc, visited Dubai as part of a regional tour where he outlined Standard Chartered's priorities for 2007.
"We have made huge strides in our journey towards the Bank's strategic aspirations - in scale and competitive positioning, financial results, ratings and awards," said Peter Sands, Group Chief Executive for Standard Chartered Plc.
"The Bank is delivering strong financial performance and is growing fast across many markets, both organically and through acquisitions. It is making great progress towards its aspiration of being the world's best international bank, and leading the way in Asia, Africa and the Middle East."
Shayne Nelson, newly appointed Regional Chief Executive Officer for Middle East & North Africa, Standard Chartered, held a cocktail reception for Peter Sands and Gareth Bullock, Director for the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Americas. The reception was held at the private villa of Mr and Mrs Nelson, and was attended by a number of VIPs and banking executives.
Nigel Jones, newly appointed Chief Executive Officer for Standard Chartered Bank, UAE and his wife Sarah also attended the event.
