UAE explores renewable energy

The UAE has set up a chapter of the UK-based World Renewable Energy Network in Abu Dhabi, Gulf News reported. CEO of the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber, will head the group. Renewable energy, such as from hydrogen, solar thermal and wind power, currently makes up 11% of the world's primary energy demands, according to WREN data. This is expected to rise to 60% by 2070.
