Another world record by Intercoil International

Intercoil International, pioneers in the bedding industry in the Middle East, accomplished a similar feat at the DSF 2000, producing the world's largest spring mattress, measuring 10 meters long, 8 meters wide and 60 cm in height.

According to Mr Hassan Al-Hazeem, Managing Director at Intercoil International, "Just as Dubai is continuously striving to surpass its own accomplishments, we at Intercoil have imbibed the same culture of setting higher goals and improving on our own achievements. As such, this year we will beat our own record of manufacturing not only the biggest mattress but the biggest bed set (base and mattress) in the world."

The largest bed measures 14 meters long, 12 meters in width and 2.1 meters in height. The base and mattress were manufactured at Intercoil's manufacturing plant in Al Quoz and then transported to Safa Park for display. The entire production and assembling process took more than 1,400 man hours and a total of 150 employees.

"Our employees were really excited about being part of this record breaking project, which has not only fostered team work between Intercoil's management and staff but has also nurtured a sense of achievement among the employees.", added Mr Hassan.

"By producing the world's largest bed set, we wanted to make known how a home grown brand like Intercoil has made its mark internationally. We also wanted to highlight the advanced level of the manufacturing sector in the UAE, which is on par with most of the other industrialised nations," Mr Hassan concluded.
