Emirates and Motivate renew long-term publishing agreement

Emirates Airline has renewed its long-standing relationship with Motivate Publishing to produce Open Skies, the airline's highly successful in-flight magazine.

Motivate Publishing were appointed in 1985 when the airline was launched and have been publishing the magazine for 21 years. The new 5-year contract commences this month. In addition to Open Skies, Motivate Publishing also produce two bi-monthly magazines for Emirates: Portfolio, a business magazine for first and business class passengers and Emirates TV & Radio Guide.

Open Skies recently received its first circulation audit from international auditors, BPA. With a certified circulation of 52,004 copies a month Open Skies has one of the highest circulations of any magazine in the region. Emirates TV & Radio Guide has also received its first BPA audit with a bi-monthly qualified circulation of 57,249 copies.

Commenting on the new contract Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline said:

'Motivate Publishing have been producing magazines for us since the airline's launch in 1985. During those 21 years the magazine has developed to meet our constantly changing requirements and has maintained a standard and identity which reflects the airline and the profile of our passengers.'



This is Motivate Publishing's first five-year contract for the magazine following seven 3-year contracts which have often been won in highly competitive bids against other publishers in the region as well as from Europe and the Far East.

Group Editor and Managing Partner of Motivate Publishing, Ian Fairservice said 'The in-flight magazine for Emirates Airline was our first contract magazine and has always been our most important. The new five year contract reflects the phenomenal growth of the airline and puts us in a stronger position than ever to provide publishing services to match Emirates' globalisation plans.'

In addition to the three contract titles which Motivate Publishing produce for Emirates the company also publishes magazines for clients such as Dubai International Airport, the Jumeirah International Hotel Group and property developers Emaar.  Motivate's leading consumer titles include What's On, Emirates Woman, Hello! Gulf Business and the recently launched Stuff magazine.
