Nedjma hits 3 million subscribers

Wataniya Telecom, (National Mobile Telecommunications Company K.S.C. - Ticker: (NMTC) today announced that its commercial operation in Algeria, known under the brand name Nedjma, has sparked a remarkable increase in mobile penetration doubling the total number of subscribers from 1.5 million in January 2006 to over 3 million subscribers in December 2006.
Since its launch in Algeria, Nedjma has contributed significantly to the advancement of mobile penetration in the country as it continues to maintain its innovation leadership strategy. The company is today among the most recognized brands in Algeria as it constantly provides high quality and the latest mobile services along with the best customer service in the country. Nedjma's GPRS / Edge network covers today 75% of the populated area in Algeria.

Commercially launched in December 1999, Wataniya Telecom is part of Kuwait Projects Company (KIPCO), and has been a driving force in increasing the mobile communications market in Kuwait to more than 90 per cent of the population.
