US, UAE eye FTA talks

The UAE and the US are set to resume discussions over a free trade agreement in the next week, according to the AFP. Previous talks over the past two years have failed to strike a deal, with certain US conditions allegedly proving a stumbling block. The US wants the establishment of workers' unions in the UAE as well as an improvement in the country's human rights record.
