RTA awarded the expansion of Al Maktoum Bridge with a cost of AED 64 million

The expansion of Al Maktoum bridge project is expected to cost AED 64 million.
HE Mattar Al Tayer said that the authority awarded the construction of this project to Emirates Roads Construction Company and is to include the expansion of the roads leading to the bridge through expansion of the bridge from Um Hurair Road from two lanes to three lanes also including the improvement and development of Khalid Bin Al-Walid Road.
He added that the RTA awarded the movement parts of the bridge and improvement works to the contractor Wagner Peru who works on the execution of Floating Bridge. He pointed out that improvements include increasing the number of lanes from Deira to Bur Dubai from four lanes to six lanes by using the current spaces between the movement parts of the bridge which helps increase capacity for the traffic movement and provide the greatest traffic safety.
