A cocktail reception is being held today at The Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi, to commemorate the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ghazi Abdul-Jawad, President & Chief Executive, said: "As we celebrate this achievement, we look forward to further enhancing the role of our Abu Dhabi office in expanding its operations in the local markets. ABC wants to be an active partner in contributing to the growth of this booming economy."

With Abu Dhabi set to launch several large development projects in different sectors - energy, construction and tourism in particular - worth more than $170 billion over the next seven years, Mr. Abdul-Jawad added: "It is natural that as a major regional bank we are looking for more opportunities to be of service to both the private and public sectors. In order to achieve this, we will continue to support our Abu Dhabi Representative Office, enabling them in the future to offer the business world the appropriate products and financial services required during this period of growth."

ABC's international depth and strategic relationships within the region allows it to maintain the leading franchise in its markets. The group has sought to build its practice beyond the traditional roles of regional banks and move into advanced high value-added activities, establishing itself as a regional leader with international experience.
