Chilean delegation visits Maritime City, Jebel Ali Free Zone

A high-level Chilean delegation visited on a number of real estate development and infrastructure projects undertaken by Dubai World group business units.
The 15-member delegation, which included businessmen, bankers and industrialists, was briefed on the state-of-the-art construction technologies employed in the projects as well as the phases completed so far.
Amer Ali, Project Manager of Dubai Maritime City, briefed the delegation on the unique project and its objectives. He said: "The DMC is the world's most comprehensive maritime complex that encompasses residential, industrial and office areas. It offers outstanding infrastructure, services and regulations, and when completed it will create a world-class environment for the global maritime community and will build on Dubai's maritime heritage."
Jean-Paul Tarud Kuborn, the Chilean Trade Commissioner in Dubai, said: "Dubai has become the business hub of the entire Middle East and we know that it is an important place where we have to stop if we want to explore the entire region. The visit of this delegation from Chile is aimed at exploring the horizons of fostering stronger trade and business ties between our two sides."
The Chilean Trade Commission in Dubai, which was inaugurated recently, is expected to play an active role in promoting bilateral trade.
A number of delegates expressed their interest in investing in real estate development in Dubai and offered to bring in Chile's own considerable expertise in constructing earthquake resistant buildings and artificial lakes.
The Chilean team's tour included Jebel Ali Free Zone.
