Danube has consistently achieved 30 per cent growth for the past decade, cementing its credentials as a major player in the regional building materials market, and has attributed the impressive results to the development of a strong network across the region.

Dubai-based Danube, founded in 1993, is on an expansion track with plans to open several new branches across the region in an attempt to capture a sizable share of the growing market. The expansion initiative has been prompted by the increased pace of business activity generated by Danube during the past few years, which has seen the company venture into Bahrain and Mumbai and further expand its Muscat operations in 2006. The company was awarded a Fire-rated certification from BM Trada, UK and is currently involved in supplying major projects that are underway in the region including the Burj Dubai, Down Town Dubai, Jumeirah Islands, International City and highly visible projects in Bahrain.

"We are proud of our accomplishments, positive about our strategy and optimistic about our future. Our growth, especially in the last ten years, has been phenomenal, which is reflected by our revenues which have risen consistently by around 30 percent since 1996, and is expected to grow at a faster pace in the future," said Rizwan Sajan, Chairman of Danube.

"As a leading provider of world-class building materials to the booming construction sector, interior decoration and shop-fitting companies in the Middle East, we aim to expand our operations worldwide to maintain and consolidate our position as one of the top companies with revenues touching AED 1 billion over the next year. The surge in construction activities across the region has brought about an unprecedented demand for building material products and we are focused on capitalising on this market situation."

Partnering with leading Laminate companies such as Royale Touché Laminates, PLOYERY, OBERFLEX, METALLIKA, and BWVL, Danube distributes over 10,000 products ranging from MDF, Plywood, Boards, Timber, Veneer, Laminates, PVC, Doors, Parquet, Ceilings, and Sanitary. The company launched new products including House of Laminates and Fire Rated solutions and plans to launch Aluminum, Steel, and Glass in the first half of 2007. Further, Danube expects to participate in the major regional and international industry-leading events, including Index, Big 5 Show Exhibition, Index-India, Construct in Colombo, and GulfBid in Bahrain.

"Our vision is to become the leading supplier and a one-stop shop for building materials catering to the requirements of both the individual home-owner and contractors working on mega projects across the region. Our international expansion in China, Bahrain and Ras Al Khaimah will have a vital role in cultivating this link and in meeting an increasing demand for building materials brought about by a rapidly growing economy, and we hope to continue this growth spurt keeping pace with the vibrancy of the regional markets," concluded Sajan.

Danube Building Materials is a leading provider of building materials to the booming construction and real estate sector in the Middle East. The company is based in Jebel Ali, and has operating offices in Deira, Salahadin, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah, Muscat, Bahrain, and Doha.
