World Mail and Express Logistics Conference attracts major players from transportation industry

The 'World Mail and Express Logistics Middle East, Africa & South Asia,' a major conference on the international transportation industry's calendar, will be held in Dubai from February 27 to 28, 2007, with Emirates Post as the host sponsor.
H.E. Sultan Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister for Public Sector Development and Chairman of Emirates Post, said: "We are pleased to welcome some of the biggest experts and mail & express players during this major conference. We hope the discussions will lead to greater interaction and co-operation among the world's mail operators and present new ideas on how to enhance quality, efficiency and speed."
Mr. Abdulla Al Daboos, Director General, Emirates Post, who will chair a session on 'How to grow the market in the region' remarked, "Since the last conference, Dubai has certainly moved up in the global logistics order, with the announcement of projects like the Jebel Ali Airport City and the Dubai Logistics City.
"Emirates Post will use the platform to highlight its diversification plan, which includes financial services, logistics, direct marketing & promotions, mail fulfillment, etc. As we prepare for major acquisitions and alliances at the regional and global levels, the conference will bring us closer to potential partners."
According to conference organizer, UK-based Triangle Management Services, an exhibition will run alongside the main conference featuring key international suppliers and operators exhibiting their latest products, technologies and services.
The high-level conference will cover major issues facing the mail and express logistics industries, such as trade barriers, cross-border operations, privatisation, security and business alliances.
The list of speakers includes Albert Hernandez, CEO of SkyPostal; TNT Express Group Director Kees Boef; H.E. Dr Muhammad Benten, President, Saudi Post; Phil Couchman, Regional Director, DHL Middle East; Khalil Daoud, Chairman & Managing Director, Liban Post; Fadi Ghandour, President & CEO, Aramex International; Hamdi Osman, VP Middle East & Indian Sub-Continent, FedEx; Michael Proffitt, Chief Executive, Dubai Logistics City and Paul Vogel, Managing Director & Senior VP, USPS.
In all, over 30 Chairmen, CEOs and senior directors will share their thoughts on strategies to grow the market in this vital developing region, while also looking at successes and sharing best practice in the global mail and express logistics sector.
